Selected as a Finalist: My Journey to the Royal Overseas League Composition Prize

I am thrilled to share that I have been selected as a finalist in the Royal Overseas League Composition Prize. This prestigious competition invites young composers from across the Commonwealth to submit their original works for a chance to win exciting prizes and opportunities.

As a finalist, I will have the incredible opportunity to compose a new piece for the London Sinfonietta, one of the world's leading contemporary music ensembles. The piece will be conducted by Geoffrey Patterson, and I cannot wait to work with him and the musicians of the London Sinfonietta to bring my composition to life.

The judging panel for the competition consisted of Joseph Davies, Raymond Yiu, and yshani perinpanayagam, all of whom are highly respected composers and musicians. I am honored to have been selected by such a distinguished group of experts in the field.

This is an incredible opportunity for me to showcase my skills as a composer and to gain valuable experience working with a world-class ensemble. The Royal Overseas League Composition Prize is known for launching the careers of some of the most talented young composers in the world, and I am excited to be a part of this legacy.

I am grateful for the support and guidance of my teachers, mentors, and colleagues who have helped me to develop my craft and to pursue my passion for music. This opportunity would not have been possible without their encouragement and support.

As I embark on this exciting new chapter of my musical journey, I am filled with excitement and anticipation. I cannot wait to see what the future holds and how this experience will shape my career as a composer and musician.

Thank you to the Royal Overseas League for this incredible opportunity, and I look forward to sharing my new composition with the world!
